Which Do You Choose

Lost in a sea of faces
So easy to get caught up
Stand out, be yourself
Or blend in, be unknown
Put yourself up for judgment
Or hide and be safe
If you choose the former
You’ll be known forever
If lucky, in positive light
But too often in negative
If you choose the latter
You’ll be lost forever
Which do you choose?
Be known and judged
Or lost and safe?

Je suis moi. I have a useless degree in Creative Writing and work in the electronics department at a major retail chain that sucks the life out of its miserable employees. Two kitties are my entire world: one sits on my lap, the other rests in my heart. Those I hold dear helped me get to where I am today, my family are the most important people in my life, and my parents are my rocks. Family is more than just blood, and blood does not make family.

Writing is my passion, though I believe I’m mediocre at best. There are a few pieces I’m proud of, but there are a lot that I re-read to remind myself of how far I’ve come. Writing helps me to understand my life, sort through the moments that haunt me, and push myself to grow, learn, heal. I love writing and character design, though sometimes my words all sound the same and characters can become either one-dimensional or carbon copies of each other.

The work found within this domain are the few moments I’ve overcome self-doubt and created a bit of art that I feel the need to share with the world.

My writing may not be perfect, but it is cheaper than therapy, alcohol, and marijuana.
